Even individual consumers can report dangerous products to the Swedish Consumer Agency. You will find more information about how you report a good or service in the article
This is how you file a complaint. Information about dangerous goods or services can be found at the following websites:
Konsumentverket (Swedish Consumer Agency) and the
European Commission.
As a consumer it may be difficult to know whether a good or a service fulfils the requirements of the law. If a good is CE marked, it means that the manufacturer promises that the product fulfils prevailing safety requirements for that particular good. It does not mean however that the good has been controlled by an authority or other control agency. Only certain products however are CE-marked, for example toys and individual safety equipment. Many products have standards that facilitate the assessment of safety.
Small articles, such as loose parts on toys, are dangerous for small children. If a small child gets a small part in his/her throat there is a risk the child may choke. With the help of a test cylinder you can determine whether small parts are dangerous or not for your child. If the cylinder can take the small part in its entirety then it is dangerous for small children since there is a risk that it may get stuck in a child’s throat.
Fore more information about safety issues contact your local consumer adviser. The adviser also knows how you can get hold of a test cylinder.
