What is the right of withdrawal and when does it apply?
The right of withdrawal means that you can return a product or cancel a service you have ordered.
You have a right of withdrawal for 14 days when you buy from a company at a distance, for example online or by telephone. The 14 days start the day after you receive or collect the product, or the day after you enter into a contract for a service.
You do not have a right of withdrawal when you buy something in a shop. Check whether the company offers a right to return or the possibility to exchange the product.
The right of withdrawal is set out in law. A right to return or the possibility to exchange a product are voluntary and decided by the company.
You do not have a right of withdrawal when you buy from a private individual.
